Dianne McPhail

Secretary,

Edmonton

Dianne serves as the Secretary for Canadian Women in Energy’s (CWiE) Edmonton Chapter, supporting initiatives focused on community engagement, partnerships, and meaningful industry connections.

She is a valued member of the Maxx North America Services Senior Management Team, representing the Human Resources department. In her role, Dianne focuses on process improvement, strategic implementation, compliance, and ensuring the organization meets its legal and employment obligations while creating a space for employees to have a voice and fostering a culture of workplace equity.  Above all, she believes that strong organizations are built on strong relationships—with employees, leaders, and the communities we serve.

For several years, Dianne has been part of the Mentorship Program through CPHR (Charter Professionals of Human Resources) where she mentors women entering the Human Resources field to open doors and break down barriers for women.

Her commitment to making a difference extends beyond the workplace. Dianne also serves on the Board of Directors of a not-for-profit organization that provides 24-hour care for vulnerable children, where 62% of children entering care are Indigenous.

Considering herself a forever learner, Dianne has completed two Diversity Equity and Inclusion courses through University of Southern Florida and the Indigenous Canada Course through University of Alberta.

For Dianne, promoting women in the workplace is about more than representation – it is about creating opportunities, building confidence, sharing experiences, and ensuring women have the support and connections they need to succeed.

Dianne believes that when women support women, everyone benefits. By building connections, sharing knowledge, celebrating achievements and creating opportunities for the next generation of female leaders, we can help create a stronger, more inclusive and more successful energy industry .
